Scientists believe that Lake Synevyr was formed approximately 10,000 years ago after the end of the Ice Age due to a powerful earthquake. The surface area of Synevyr Lake is about seven hectares. At the same time, the maximum depth of the reservoir reaches 22 meters, and the average depth is 8.2 meters. The water in Lake Synevyr is noted for its purity and unusual taste due to the absence of chlorides. The summer months warm the surface water to a temperature of only +20ºС, and at depth it remains cool, with a temperature of about four to five degrees Celsius. This makes the lake a unique place for swimming, because even on hot days its waters remain refreshing.
